Teen Challenge Northern California / Nevada -

My name is Amber and I am 21 years old.  I was raised knowing about Jesus but I never let him into my heart.  My dad was abusive to my mother, my brother and me.  My mom finally got sick of the abuse and decided to leave. I was about seven. I was mad at her for leaving.  I didn’t really understand why.  I stayed with my brother and my dad.  I was physically abused, so I had a lot of hurt, pain and feelings of abandonment.  I started smoking pot and doing speed at a very young age with my brother and friends.  I use to beat up other girls to take out my anger.  My drug use led to manufacturing them.  I found myself in jail for manufacturing methamphetamines.  I had no one left to turn to. I cried out to God in jail, and He answered my prayer.  I should have gone to prison but God had a better plan.  The court let me come to Teen Challenge and I have been here 10 ½ months.  God has taken my anger, softened my heart, and has shown me a new way of living.  I thank Him for putting me through the fire because now I am walking with Him.  I thank Him also for saving my whole family.  I will praise and follow Him the rest of my life.  Isaiah 12:2 – Surely God is my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid.  The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.  With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
